As we move into April, I want to thank you for your continued support of Burnt River School. We are fortunate to be part of a community that consistently shows up for our students and for one another. Your involvement and encouragement truly make a difference.
It was wonderful to see so many of you at the St. Patrick’s Day Dinner. Seeing our community gathered together (most dressed in green), enjoying each other’s company, was a great reminder of what makes this place so special.
We are also incredibly grateful to the Presbyterian Church in Baker for their generous donation, which allowed us to take our students on two additional ski trips. These experiences go far beyond the mountain. Learning to ski challenges students to try something new, push through difficulty, and keep going after setbacks. That perseverance carries directly into the classroom, where resilience and effort are key to success.
Our character focus for April is Courage. We are encouraging students to take positive risks in their learning, stand up for what is right, and continue to grow—even when things feel challenging. Thank you for supporting this work at home.
We are also looking forward to our upcoming Community Clean-Up Day, hosted in part by our high school leadership class and staff, and community volunteers. This is a great opportunity for students and community members to work together, take pride in our town, and strengthen connections. We hope you will join us.
